JNE Power’s partnership with Mitsubishi Canada makes available a wide range of high-efficiency wind turbines that have proved their productivity and profitability around the world.
Since the 1980s, Mitsubishi has pioneered the development of high-efficiency wind turbines that make environmentally benign wind generation more productive and profitable. Currently, more than 2,000 Mitsubishi wind turbines are in operation worldwide, with an impressive record of availability (in excess of 98% for projects in the U.S., Europe and Japan).
Design input for Mitsubishi wind turbines was obtained from key industry leaders such as International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), Germanischer Lloyd (GL), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and UK based Garrad Hassan Consulting.
Currently, the 1.0 MW units are available for IEC Class I and Class II environments, with a new 2.4 MW unit in development.
Mitsubishi wind turbine innovations include:
- Lightweight blades with full-span pitch control and optimum blade profile for superior power performance
- Advanced noise reduction technology (blade and gearbox)
- Cold weather package for operation to –30°C
- On-line monitoring services via SCADA system of Garrad Hassan
Mitsubishi maintains an integrated design and production capability for key wind turbine components, including blades, gearbox and controls. Its ISO-9001 certified manufacturing facility ensures consistently high levels of quality and reliability for all Mitsubishi wind turbine components and the Germanischer Lloyd (GL) certification confirms international design compliance.
JNE Power also offers all of the remaining equipment and material required to complete the wind turbine-generator power system (balance of plant).
